11 year old Tiyo Satrio, from Penawangan village, West Java, Indonesia was born without arms and legs, He could be forgiven for having little to smile about but the 11 year old upbeat nature upbeat nature instead.
His infectious laugh make him a class favorite with fellow pupils and teachers alike. Tiyo’s mum Mimi was unaware of her son’s condition through out the pregnancy. She was not even told straight away that her newborn child had no arms or legs after his birth.
Mimi said, ‘The midwife said everything was normal. She said, he’s good, normal, healthy. I gave birth in the middle of the night and was told the next afternoon.’ Mimi was shocked when she first heard the news but she quickly adjusted to her son’s condition. And he acceptance is what has contributed to Tiyo’s outgoing personality.
